Honest Mate Agave Mate From Honest Tea

Today I thought I would crawl a bit out of my comfort zone and try a pre-bottled tea that sounded (at the time) delicious and refreshing in all regards. Being a lover of all things agave and always drinking yerba mate tea when I get the chance, I thought that this Honest Tea (Honest Mate) Agave Mate tea was right up my alley.

As I delved into this agave tea, you realize that agave is definitely not the base, the Yerba Mate is, which melds the tastes extremely well. Both the organic yerba mate and the agave come together very well and present a pleasant herbal flavor that is mildly spicy (if you’ve had yerba mate before this is nothing new) but the agave gave it the right amount of sweetness to push this tea concoction into perfect balance.

The label says “just a tad sweet” and that is exactly what you will find. This drink is a bit more passive than other yerba mate flavors I have had. To me this yerba mate tea is great on its own, but will also pair well with food.

For those of you who are after the yerba mate tea benefits, yerba mate is rich in antioxidants and nutrients, enhances physical performance, and provides lots of energy. Watch out though, if you’re sensitive to caffeine, yerba mate’s caffeine (natural caffeine) packs a punch. It is thought that yerba mate can also help you lose weight, lower your blood sugar, boost your immune system and could even lower your risk for heart disease.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this tea to anyone who loves yerba mate and if you are solely an agave lover this is perfect for you as well. It's a very good tea creation from Honest Tea that is unique in its own way.
